ABOUT MARIESTAD . . . .

Mariestad is a seaside town that is located by one of Europes biggest lake - you could pretty much say that Vänern is an inland sea.The guest harbour is an obvious meeting spot during the summer.

When there is good evenings - which is pretty common during the summer - the old town is a perfect place to walk around. It's a very well bevared part of the town with small and lovely houses and of course small cozy streets.
If you would like to get more information about the old town, why not take one of the guided tours that is on mondays and thursdays.
At the highest point of the old town, the beautiful church of Mariestad is located with an amazing view over the sea and the town it self.

Mariestad have many successfull companies.
Electrolux and Metsä-Tissue are two of the biggest. Together with other competent companies they manage to create an exciting entrepreneurial climate.
I.e. Telia have an internet support that thru modern IT-tecnich manage to solve problems thru the whole Telia concern.

In Mariestad there is also many administrations that belongs to Länsstyrelsen and parts of the Västra Götalandsregionen.
